about mk

Michael Ken was born the youngest of three sons in Denver, Colorado. At age ten, Michael started practicing martial arts and earned his first black belt at age 16. Now practicing for three and a half decades, he has earned several black belts and studied numerous styles of Japanese martial arts. Each year, Michael travels to Japan to train directly under the masters and says Bushido (The Way of the Warrior) is a discipline that has shaped every facet of his life.

Michael accepted a position training private security teams in Mexico where he later worked as a professional bodyguard. He continued working for the private sector in executive protection and intelligence analysis until September, 2001.

After the 9/11 attacks on the United States, Michael felt moved to serve the public sector where he operated for over a decade, finishing his public service career as a lieutenant over a fugitive apprehension unit for a state law enforcement agency. He also worked closely with several foreign agencies including national enforcement and intelligence offices in Mexico and Guatemala.

Despite living a life of action, Michael’s biggest passion in life is teaching. Blending philosophy, psychology, critical thinking, logic, and meditation, Michael asks questions that add a new dimension to thinking. The information Michael presents is innovative and has been described as “a wake-up call about how we deceive ourselves”. Focusing on the human experience, Michael encourages people to embrace their humanity through authentic expression, deep connection, and the pursuit of truth.
