Goodbye Wordpress, Hello Squarespace!

One of my writing desks.

I’ve been blogging for over ten years using Wordpress as a platform and Fatcow as a host. Although Wordpress is a great tool for website development (not to mention the most popular), it was easy to get caught up in paid plug-ins, custom themes, and other features that required me to give up writing time because I was busy fixing my website. Additionally, recent hikes in Fatcow’s prices, including additional fees for basic website necessities, led me to take a look at other, more streamlined, platforms.

Creating websites is fun, rewarding, and time consuming. Advances in technology, however, have brought us amazing, simple to use platforms like this one on Squarespace.com. The professional designers who work at Squarespace.com really make it easy to create a website that looks great without wasting your time. So, I’m saying goodbye to the unpredictable plugins, FTPs, updates, broken links, and custom themes that each operate differently.

Thanks to those of you who have been following me for the last decade. I have transferred all active michaelken.com accounts to this blog and those members will continue receiving articles, updates, and more. For those who have not recently accessed your michaelken.com emails, I did not add you to this new platform, in case you no longer want to receive our emails. Please consider joining this new list, as your interest and readership are greatly valued.

Thank you and I look forward to the next ten years of blogging!

-Michael
